Job purpose

The Prayer Coordinator will process all prayer requests submitted to the ministry. The associate will be directly responsible for the incoming prayer calls, prayer webpage and all written prayer requests.

Duties and responsibilities


  • Monitor World Challenge prayer phone line
    • Greet constituents calling into World Challenge prayer line, determine how to best respond or direct call
    • Lead spontaneous, over-the-phone prayer sessions with constituents who call and engage with them to encourage and uplift their spirits
    • Check daily voice messages, return calls, and provide additional follow-up as needed
  • Coordinate prayer requests and associated actions
    • Gather, track, and pray over all prayer requests from incoming mail, company website, phone calls, social media, etc.
    • Maintain daily prayer list and ensure all prayer requests are prayed over
    • Update Raiser’s Edge with prayer “actions” to track communications
    • Post a daily prayer request on the World Challenge SharePoint Newsfeed


  • Prayer Webpage
    • Properly track and document all prayer requests and ensure all are prayed for


  • Constituent Records
    • Capture all communications and transactions with constituents in Raiser’s Edge
    • Update constituent records as needed

  • Correspondence/Miscellaneous
    • Assist with a variety of constituent correspondence and concerns to include donation inquiries/requests, resource orders, constituent questions/problem resolution, and benevolence requests
    • Provide project assistance to support special mailings, promotional material, welcome kits, and other ministry support as needed
    • Daily processing of web-based constituent records to ensure new records are properly incorporated into the donor database  



  • Exemplary telephone etiquette with strong interpersonal skills and experience praying and comforting others in a similar type of ministry/setting
  • Excellent listening, communication, customer service & organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministries, Biblical Studies, Communications, or similar field preferred
  • Must be able to comprehend and speak English fluently and clearly; must also be able to identify the needs of the caller and determine best how to pray utilizing biblical principles
  • Experience handling difficult situations on the phone
  • Strong computer and software skills including experience with the internet, Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook and databases
  • Raiser’s Edge experience desirable

Working conditions


The Prayer Coordinator role functions within normal business hours, Monday through Friday. With the exception of occasional training, there is no travel required for this position.


Physical requirements


This role requires no heavy lifting and is performed in a climate-controlled office environment. The employee is allowed appropriate time for breaks and lunch.
