The Content Writer/Editor writes, posts and oversees the digital content for World Challenge on its various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in addition to others. Each channel has large audiences that need to be maintained daily. The Content Writer/Editor will assist in conducting social media campaigns, responding to constituents and planning innovative ways for us to serve our current constituents and acquire new partners.  The ideal candidate is passionate about World Challenge’s mission, cooperative and collaborative in addition to being a self-starter capable of multi-tasking and thriving in a role that requires significant organization, attention-to-detail, and follow-up.

    • Between $48,000 and $54,000 a year based on qualifications and experience

Duties and responsibilities


  • Coordinate with the Web and Social Media Manager, Graphic Designer and Senior Editor in maintaining various social media channels
    • Post content to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram using CoSchedule
    • Respond to incoming social media comments, replies and messages in a friendly and timely manner
    • Post video content to World Challenge YouTube Channel
    • As needed, write descriptions and create graphics for devotionals, newsletters, podcasts, articles and promise calendar verses for social media channels


  • Marketing Writing
    • As needed, write email content for book give-aways, giving campaigns, receipt letters
    • Schedule daily devotional emails to digital audience
    • Plan and execute digital acquisition campaigns
    • Finds compelling ways to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ while informing current and potential constitutents of the the global work of World Challenge


  • Gather Analytics
    • Track trending and most viewed content to give statistics to team to help craft messages, understand audience engagement and inform user experience
    • Advise on best practices for social media campaigns and posting frequency


  • Proof content to be posted to social media




  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in web sphere in professional environment
  • Agreement and alignment with World Challenge’s Statement of Faith
  • Familiar with writing and best practices for social media as well as analytics tools
  • Familiarity with CoSchedule
  • Knowledgeable in email marketing software such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact or Luminate a plus
  • Basic proficiency of Adobe Suite or Canva for creating and editing imagery a plus
  • Analytical thinker
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organized and logical in process creation
  • Ability to work well on group projects


Working conditions

This role is a typical office job requiring a work schedule of 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. You must be able to sit at a desk in front of a computer for the majority of the day.


Physical requirements

This role requires no heavy lifting and is performed in a climate-controlled environment. The employee is allowed appropriate time for breaks and lunch.
